PLURART and ARTEAPPYCOM pilots at the MILE Conference
NewsALPHABETICA participated in the MILE Conference – Cultivating Plurilingual Education across Different Learning Contexts through the Arts and Museums, held in Venice from 15 to 17 October 2026. The conference provided an opportunity to share the project’s experiences and findings, highlighting how arts-based approaches can support plurilingual and intercultural education.
Two presentations showcased the work developed within ALPHABETICA’s pilot actions, PLURART (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, UAB) and ARTEAPPYCOM (University of Bologna, UNIBO). Rosa Pugliese and Greta Zanoni (UNIBO, Italy) presented “ARTEAPPYCOM: A Pilot Action on the Interplay of Art-Based and Plurilingual Education”, exploring the connections between arts-based practices and plurilingual learning. Meanwhile, Denise Paola Holguín Vaca and Claudia Vallejo Rubinstein (UAB, Spain), together with Jenna Nilson (University of Warwick, UK), presented “When Art Makes Tensions Visible: Plurilingual and Intercultural Education in Primary School”, addressing the role of art in engaging with tensions in multilingual and intercultural educational contexts.
The conference offered a valuable opportunity to exchange experiences with colleagues and strengthen dialogue on the role of arts-based education in fostering inclusive and intercultural learning environments.
