ALPHABETICA celebrates arts-based education in Forlì
NewsThe second edition of the ‘Festival of Good Educational Practices through Art’, organised by the University of Bologna, took place on 24 September in Forlì, Italy. The festival brought together inspiring experiences that demonstrate the potential of art in education. Contributing to the event, the ALPHABETICA project presented activities and outcomes from its research, highlighting innovative approaches to inclusive and participatory learning.
The festival featured an exhibition of 20 posters showcasing good practices in arts-based education. This provided a valuable opportunity to exchange experiences, share knowledge and explore how creativity can support inclusion and enrich educational processes.
Among the experiences shared by ALPHABETICA were initiatives combining art, local heritage and community participation, such as student-created audiowalks exploring the stories of a city through the voices of its residents. Other practices involved pupils in creative workshops led by local artists, where they shared their dreams and co-created collective artworks through creative writing, photography, video art, visual arts and theatre. The exhibition also highlighted how challenging situations, such as vandalism affecting a school building, can become opportunities for creative expression and participatory action.
The festival was a valuable opportunity to share practices, strengthen connections and celebrate the role of art in building more inclusive and creative educational environments. Thank you to everyone who contributed to making this exchange possible!
