On 16 May, the ALPHABETICA partners at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), from the Research Group for Education, Interaction and Plurilingualism, were visited by Jenna Nilson, a researcher from the University of Warwick (UK), who gave a talk entitled ‘Celebrating Multilingual Creativity: Drama and Translanguaging in the Additional Language Class’, aimed at PhD students and GREIP members.

In her talk, Nilson addressed various theoretical, methodological and didactic perspectives on performative methods for language teaching and translanguaging as inclusive approaches in additional language education for migrants and refugees.

The day continued with a practical and formative workshop at the El Viver school, the main partner of the UAB group within the ALPHABETICA project. The participating teachers experienced the potential of drama in the classroom.
