ALPHABETICA encourages young people to speak out
NewsDuring the 3rd Kraków Children and Youth Conference on 26 May 2026, ALPHABETICA and other associations facilitated meaningful dialogue between young people and institutions.
Initiated by the Mikołaj Rej Foundation and co-organised by the INTERKULTURALNI PL Association, in cooperation with Bilingualism Matters Krakow, the Jagiellonian University, the Specialist Psychological and Pedagogical Counselling Centre for Children with Educational Difficulties, the Multiculturalism Embassy and ACTIN, the conference created a unique space to discuss how cultural institutions can promote access to artistic activities.
Children and young people were not simply participants — they became active co-creators of the conversation on education, culture, and the city. They shared their experiences, identified challenges and proposed solutions. They also engaged directly with representatives of public and cultural institutions about how educational and cultural initiatives could better respond to their needs.
The conference once again demonstrated the power, creativity and agency of young people, as well as the importance of involving them in the development of education and culture.
