OCWA at the Children and Childhoods Conference 2026
NewsALPHABETICA’s Our Caring World through Art (OCWA) was featured at the Children and Childhoods Conference 2026, held at the University of Suffolk on 15–16 July.
On 16 July, illustrator and arts-based researcher Dr Kremena Dimitrova (Oxford Brookes University) presented Our Caring World through Art: Building Bridges, Crossing Borders… Co-creatively as part of the panel Methodological Approaches to Inclusive Research.
The presentation highlighted the ongoing collaboration between Oxford Brookes University and The Open University, showcasing participatory arts-based workshops with children and young people in schools, libraries and youth settings. It demonstrated how co-creative arts practices can promote inclusion, wellbeing and identity, while reinforcing the importance of equitable access to the arts for children’s emotional and social development.
