The ALPHABETICA Living Lab in Cyprus is in full swing
NewsThe Cyprus pilot of the ALPHABETICA Living Lab is underway, bringing together children, educators, artists, policymakers, and community members to explore how arts-based approaches can support inclusion, learning, and cultural awareness. The activities are being implemented by Synthesis Center for Research and Education.
Following the Living Lab methodology, the project began with stakeholder mapping and engagement activities, creating opportunities for participants to share experiences, identify local needs, and contribute ideas for inclusive educational practices.
The project then moved into a co-creation and prototyping phase, where teachers and artists developed and tested creative activities with children. One activity, inspired by the butterfly artworks of David Kracov, invited primary school pupils to create their own “Butterflies of Diversity and Inclusion.”
Through art and reflection, children expressed their identities, talents, and aspirations while celebrating diversity and belonging. As the pilot continues, feedback from participants will help refine the activities and contribute to more inclusive and culturally responsive educational environments across Europe.
