On 13 October 2025, the ALPHABETICA consortium held an online general assembly, bringing together all partners to share progress and outline the next steps of the project.

As the project approaches its first year, much of the preparatory work has been completed. This includes a comprehensive literature review on arts and arts-based education, which will form the foundation of ALPHABETICA’s theoretical and methodological toolkit. In parallel, an in-depth analysis of national curricula across partner countries is identifying examples of arts-based learning to inform future training programmes for educators.

Preparations are also underway for a series of focus groups and surveys with students, teachers, and policymakers to assess how art and arts-based education are perceived and valued. Meanwhile, 12 pilot actions in schools and informal learning settings will soon be launched to explore the transformative impact of arts-based education, particularly in disadvantaged communities. “It’s inspiring to see how each pilot reflects its local context while sharing a common co-creation and Youth Participatory Action Research approach,” said one partner.

As ALPHABETICA enters its next phase, the consortium remains committed to demonstrating how the arts can drive inclusion, creativity, and holistic learning for all children and young people.
